John Kawamoto is a Senior Partner with PP&Co. John joined the firm in 1990, becoming a partner in 2001, and serving as a Managing Partner from 2018 through 2023. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from San Jose State University.
As a senior partner at PP&Co, John is responsible for providing tax and business consulting for closely held businesses, their owners, and families. In addition, he provides audit, tax, and business planning services to privately held businesses and income and estate planning services for individuals. John specializes in the firm’s Hospitality practice and prepares business valuations for privately held companies. John is an active member of the Firm’s Audit, Information Technology, and Community Involvement Committees and holds both Life Insurance and Securities licenses (Series 66 and 7).

What is your personal work ethic, and how do you communicate this ethic to your staff?
I believe strongly in our dedication to serving the needs of our clients. This is communicated by reminding staff of the importance of client service and through my own actions.
How will technology affect the way you and your clients do business?
Technology allows us to respond to clients at a moment’s notice. Whether it is a cell phone call, email message, or through our client portal, we can service our clients wherever they are. Technology allows us to continue to communicate and conduct business whether they are across the street or on the other side of the world.
How do you measure success?
I measure success through the satisfaction of our clients as indicated through client referrals and comments from non-client referral sources about client satisfaction.
